Adding Colour to Lips in Photoshop

This weeks quick tip is how to add colour to lips in Photoshop.

Step 1. Open image and create a new layer.

Step 2. Select the brush tool and adjust the size so it is relative to the lip size. Make sure your opacity is set to 100%. Now choose a colour by double clicking on the foreground colour from the tools palette.

Step 3. With your new selected colour, brush over the lips, it’s ok if you go over the teeth or skin as you can erase this later.

Step 4. When your area is filled in, go to the Layer Blending Options (shown below) and select Soft Light. To make the colour look more realistic change the opacity of this layer to something of your choosing. I went for 55% with this image but it is totally down to personal preference.

Step 5. Using the erase tool, go over any areas you do not wish to have applied the colour to, such as lips and skin.
